I use the MPEG2s. I demux those with a cool little free app called MPEG Streamclip 1.0.2. Streamclip converts it to any codec that QuickTime supports. I use a 600KBPS MPEG 4. I do that because I need a sperate audio and video track. I then use Sorenson Squeeze to export it to a .flv file. If you are real stickler for details. I encode them at 368 kbps for video and 32 kbps mono audio. I know it will sound like I can't do math but that's half of a 128kbps stero mp3. These movies are old so no one really notices the reduction in audio quality.

And then you're hosting the streams on your own site? I know all 7 movies didn't fit into 300k or similar :)
